Dr. Paul Jones comes from a family of highly regarded criminal prosecutors, with both his father and grandfather being notorious for their significant contributions to the field of justice. However, a rather young Paul found himself drawn to the rich and mysterious cultures of the East. After tragically losing his father at the age of twelve, Dr. Jones' early years were marked by a deep curiosity about life, death, and the metaphysical, leading him to become an avid reader of Eastern philosophy—an interest that felt far beyond his age, shaped by trauma and a search for answers.
By the age of fourteen, Dr. Jones had already begun training in Japanese classical arts, such as calligraphy and swordsmanship, and by seventeen, he was fortunate enough to meet one of those rare and peculiar Oriental masters, where he had his first glimpses into the authentic practices of Eastern traditions. Dr. Jones studied under the guidance and tutelage of this master for several years, who profoundly influenced his life and shaped his character. By twenty, Dr. Jones had already studied the great philosophical texts of India, China, Tibet, and Japan, from the Upanishads to the Bhagavad Gita and the Mahabharata, from the Dhammapada to Nitobe's Bushido and Tsunetomo's Hagakure, from the Art of War to Laozi's Tao Te Ching, among many others in the vast literary corpus of Oriental philosophy. His meeting with his Japanese master also sparked in him a deep interest in Oriental medicine.
Still grappling with trauma and life's unanswered questions, Dr. Jones was increasingly drawn to the lives of renunciants, yogis, and monks. At the age of twenty-four, he traveled alone to India, despite his family’s objections, and immersed himself in the monastic traditions. Lovingly, the monks themselves encouraged him to pursue a traditional career, and Dr. Jones returned home to study law and continue his family’s legacy. During this time, though, he continued to travel back to India during university to study in monasteries. His legal career began in the District Attorney’s criminal office, first as an intern and later as an advisor. His graduation thesis examined the use of meditation in prisons as a way to reintegrate offenders into society.

Disillusioned with the false glamour of the judicial system, and stepping firmly into his mature years, Dr. Jones decided to dedicate himself to his original interests, undertaking studies in Oriental medicine. Feeling more at home, Dr. Jones wrote a thesis that explored meditation as a powerful tool to treat stress, anxiety, depression, and other health issues. His journey then took him to live in Japan, where he expanded his meditation practice, studying Zen and Shinto, and taking his lifelong passion for calligraphy and classical martial arts to new depths.
Raised in a family of criminal investigators and influenced by Zen teachings, Dr. Jones never lost his sharp sense for detecting fraud, and in time became increasingly skeptical of the "miracle healers" and supernatural experiences often associated with spiritual practices. Never presumptuously dismissing these experiences as wholly non-existent, it was through thorough conversations with monks in Japan that Dr. Jones came to understand how these so-called "other-worldly" experiences, though often recorded in scriptures and ancient texts, for the lay practitioner result in more anxiety and illusions rather than the intended purpose of meditation—finding inner peace, joy, and serenity. These noble feelings can and should be attained in simple everyday meditation practices, by all. Therefore, over time, his approach to meditation became more grounded in science, distancing itself from the mystical.
Now in his mid-forties, Dr. Jones has left behind his legal and clinical career to fully dedicate himself to what he knows best: offering a scientific, secular, and health-oriented approach to meditation. His methods, accessible to anyone, are focused on improving well-being in today's fast-paced world. With a genuine desire to help, Dr. Jones now works with individuals and groups in high-stress corporate environments, using the latest technology to guide them toward achieving greater serenity, joy, and balance in their daily lives. Not in monasteries or secluded caves in the Himalayas, Dr. Jones realized that it is in the daily lives of ordinary people, within their workspaces, where meditation can be most useful—because it is there that it is most needed.
